Senior Showcase

Gwendalyn Rose Díaz will be performing "Dead Mom" from Beetlejuice at her live showcase on March 25, 2025 at Theatre 555 in New York City. Her Virtual showcase will also go live that same evening on https://syracuseshowcase.com/ ! Along with singing her favorite gothic teen's anthem, catch her doing a scene from "All This Intimacy" written by Rajiv Joseph with her colleague, Kendall Stewart . She hopes you enjoy!

West Side Story Project 

As a young Latina Americana, Gwendalyn has always dreamed of playing Maria in West Side Story. This Spring 2025, she and some of her colleagues collaborated to film the song, "A Boy Like That/I Have A Love", from West Side Story with lyrics translated to Spanish. Gwendalyn had the opportunity to play Maria opposite Eleni Stavros who played Anita with direction by Kyle Morales-Hejlik, videography by Benjamin Robert Simpson, and production assistance by Molly Martin.

Tepper Semester 2025

Gwendalyn will complete her BFA in Musical Theatre education by attending Syracuse University's Tepper Semester at the Fisher Center in New York City this Spring 2025! She is over the moon to have the opportunity to move to NYC and to continue studying with industry professionals such as: Daisy Prince Chaplin, Brian McManamon, Erica Jensen, Paul Davis, etc

Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella

This October 2024-January 2025, Gwendalyn will be returning a third year to Syracuse Stage for their Holiday Co-Production of Cinderella: Enchanted Edition. She will be understudying the roles of Cinderella, Grace, & Joy under the direction of Melissa Rain Anderson, choreography by Jessica Chen, and with music direction by Brian Cimmet.

Pippin

Gwendalyn is overjoyed to be making her Syracuse University Drama Mainstage musical debut with Pippin this Fall 2024. She will be starring as Leading Player and collaborating with director: Torya Beard, choreographer: Kevin Boseman, and music director: Brian Cimmet to make this extraordinary act come to life!

Tuck Everlasting

This summer 2024, Gwendalyn will be working at Redhouse Arts Center in Syracuse, New York in their production of Tuck Everlasting as a part of the ensemble and as a mentor. She is so grateful to be a part of this production that is working in partnership with the Arc of Onondaga program and The Golisano's Foundation to help bring the performing arts to underrepresented communities and individuals with disabilities.

Ahrens & Flaherty Revue

This 2024 Spring Semester at Syracuse University Drama, Gwendalyn will be a part of a course titled: An Ahrens & Flaherty Revue where she and her colleagues will collaborate with their instructor, Brian Cimmet, & accompanist, Abel Searor, to create their own revue using the Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty music cannon. She is a co-writer on the project and will also be performing the full Revue, "The World She Writes: An Ahrens & Flaherty Revue" with seven of her incredibly talented colleagues and collaborators.

A Christmas Carol

This 2023 Holiday Season, Gwendalyn will be returning for a second time to Syracuse Stage for their Co-Production. She will be starring as the Street Singer, Sister-In-Law, and the Youngest Miss Fezziwig in their production of A Christmas Carol directed by Melissa Rain Anderson, choreographed by Andrea Leigh Smith, and music directed by Brian Cimmet. She can't wait to help sing Christmas spirit back into the hearts of all.

Dance Nation

Gwendalyn will be making her Syracuse University Drama Mainstage Play debut in Dance Nation as Ashlee's understudy. An eight minute monologue is no joke, but she is prepared to take on the task this March 2023. She can't wait to help bring Ashlee to life with direction by Katherine McGerr and choreography by Felipe Panamá.

Disney's The Little Mermaid

This December 2022, Gwendalyn made her regional theatre and Syracuse Stage debut in their holiday Co-Production of Disney's The Little Mermaid with a midweek swing on as the Flounder Understudy. She is also the Ariel Understudy as well as a swing that covers various other tracks in the ensemble from sea creatures to mersisters! She couldn’t be more thankful to director: Melissa Rain Anderson, choreographer: Adam Cates, and music director: Brian Cimmet for believing in her to take on the challenge of swinging and understudying for the first time ever. 

Our Dear Dead Drug Lord

Gwendalyn's very first Syracuse Univeristy Drama show experience is kicking off with a student directed studio project! This Fall 2022, she will be starring as Pipe in Our Dear Dead Drug Lord. This opportunity means the world to Gwendalyn as a  young Latina American and is so blessed to have the opportunity to share Pipe's story. Director: Puaseisei Patu-Tanielu

Syracuse University Acceptance

After months of college prescreens, auditions, and applications, Gwendalyn is SO thrilled to finally announce that she will be attending Syracuse University starting this Fall 2021 to get her BFA in Musical Theatre in the college of Visual & Performing Arts alongside a minor in Nutrition through Falk College. She is so grateful for all the support she has received from friends and family and can't wait to start this new chapter in her life. GO ORANGE!
